The Listening Biennial is an artistic, curatorial initiative focusing on the topic of listening. This includes a relation to sonic and performative practices, ecological research, and questions of pedagogy. It is developed in the context of the social acoustics research framework, with its first iteration being launched in July 2021. The second edition of the Biennial is taking place in 2023. This includes fostering a network of participating organizations, spaces and collectives around the world, to contribute to the presentation of the Biennial within specific localities. In addition, The Listening Academy acts as an ongoing, migrating research platform, hosting and facilitating collaborative research and the sharing of knowledges and practices.
